Suggestion for a New Community Relations Manager
Dear Arena.net,
It has come to our attention, that we, the community are not being heard. I am afraid that this might be due to a certain person being fully encharge of Arena.net's Community Relations. We do not feel that this person is doing her job as it should be done, and giving her full responsibility to do it is a very big mistake.
What we believe Gaile Gray is doing wrong:
- Personal issues interfering with her job
- Certain personal issues with some people regarding entrance to the Alpha test
- Directing certain "flaimes" to certain people pubicly
- Expresses a clear lack of professionalism - Clear lack of response / information regarding the PvP problem
- Personal preferences perhaps interfearing with this
- Lack of PvP experience to understand half of her company's audience
- Often reports false information regarding gameplay, which is quickly corrected by community players
- Expresses a clear lack of experience in the game she's supposed to promote - Only person responsible for CR
- Causes all the above problems
What we believe would fix the problem:
- Completely remove Gaile from the position of CRM
- Perhaps demoting to a lower position where she's on equal grounds with 2-3 others also incharge of CR
- Fire her completely and get a CR that won't bring personal issues and lack of experience to the face of Arena.net
It is clear to us, that Gaile Gray is not fit for the position she is in. She has showed this to us from the beginning of time, starting all the way from the beginning of Alpha Testing. I could go into names and tell you stories of people deserving to be an Alpha Tester (am not talking about myself here), who were invited by Alpha guilds, but were not let in while Alpha test recruiting was still very active, simply because Gaile Gray, 1 person in charge of the entire thing, having personal problems with certain people. I could also tell you stories and even post links where she truly expressed her lacking ability of either keeping a professional face when responding to concerned members of of the community, and her lacking experience of the game itself.
This post is not to call a certain person out, and it is certainly not to "flame" anyone involved with the project or show disrespect. It is simply a suggestion for Arena.net to improve it's CR capability, and to fix the false face that is being put on the company.
Sincerely,
A group of concerned players

Very interesting, but are you asking for the WoW-like CM management, where you got copy-paste responses?
Just wondering, because I feel that Gaile doing a fairly good job staying in contact with the palyerbase right now.

I certainly agree, and I'm glad I'm not the only person that feels this way. It heartens me greatly to see someone post a professional thread regarding the lack of community relations surrounding guild wars. I hope, for once, the collective voice of the community is heard, and that action is taken against Gaile Gray.

In my opinion, this should not have been posted publicly here, instead this should have been directly sent to Arena.Net, not put here for all to read and openly respond to.
I can already tell this is going to get negative response, I find it highly uncouth to place this so openly, it seems very... well crude. I have no complaints about Gaile myself, do you expect her to constantly respond every day to every single suggestion made? I am very certain her job entails more than to babysit this forum alone, and I am sure she has many things to do related to more than just one country, this means millions of players and millions of suggestions.
This is in a professional format, but it seems to me, to show lack of dignity to put this directly into the hands of the public of these forums rather than direct to Arena.Net.
This forum alone is not the collective voice of Guild Wars players, it is a fraction of the overall playerbase in the entire world, this is unfair to both Gaile and Arena.Net for lack of understanding her job, and how they listen to the overall community...

Perhaps give examples of her un-experience as you state... perhaps rather then just saying these things, you should back them up with actual reference. I actually think the community is mingling fine by itself, and they shouldnt worry so much about every little person complaining about things.
It's bound to happen... and seriously... i would find it to be very stressfull trying to make points to alot of the kids that are complaining about things, that they normaly dont even understand, or have any experience actually testing/playing.
Kids are stubborn, and wont listen to the answer... so why start an arguement, when you can just ignore their stupidity?
I dont know, just another view on the topic...

This was not the right place for this sort of thing. If your "group" has a problem with Gaile, send your letters directly to ANet. THis is the wrong place to attempt a public lynching of an ANet employee.
I don't know about anyone else, but this looks like a desperate attempt by PvP players to get their way and hope that ANet will bend over for them because of the "unfair" treatment of their segment by Gaile.
I'm hoping that wasn't your intent, but that is the way it looks.

I have to agree. The only problem I see, is that the person who would be reporting this back to Arena.net is Gaile herself.

Posted by one of the 'usual suspects'.. It is exactly what we have come to expect from these 'few' PvP crybaby perpetual whiners.
I have only one thing to say 'Grow Up'.

Gaile is doing a great job and this is certainly not the place to put her on trial, so to speak. If you have a problem you wish to discuss, I suggest you keep it private via personal messages.
